Collecting Feedback

Feedback is part of running a successful business - how do people experience your product or service? What are you doing great at? What are you improving? Are you setting yourself up for success when you ask for feedback?

I LOVE feedback. But, not all feedback is good - and by good, I don't mean positive, I mean QUALITY. Some feedback is just straight-up unhelpful. And, the client/customer, isn't always to blame.

The quality of feedback you receive depends on the types of questions you ask! Quality feedback is actionable. That means you can actually do something with it. It doesn’t just make you feel good or bad. It actually helps you to make decisions.

If you are wondering…

  • Who should I get feedback from? And, when? How often?

  • Am I asking the right questions (aka questions that are getting me the information I want or need)?

  • Will people feel comfortable sharing information with me in this way?

  • Do my questions make sense to the people answering them?

  • Am I asking questions in a way that is ethical?

  • Am I asking questions in a way best suited for what I want to know? (e.g., survey, focus group, interview)

I’m your girl.

Challenges you might face and how I can help:

  • You’ve come to the right place. Asking better questions is my jam and definitely in my “zone of genius” so to speak. Together we’ll walk through what you are asking and why and I will recommendations for improvement. There's an art and science to writing good questions. Let me review your current questions and give you simple, easy-to-implement tips to make them better.

  • Maybe you’re good at asking people to share their experiences or what they think with you but … you’ve realized that the questions you’re asking aren’t getting you information that you can take action on. Or, you end up with paragraphs or pages of information and it’s either overwhelming OR you don’t have a systematic way to sort through it and use the information to make decisions.

Together, we’ll hone in on what you really want to learn and the best questions you can ask to make sure the information you get is something you can take action on.

  • I get it — you’re busy! It can be difficult to remember to ask for feedback. It can be particularly difficult to ask for feedback in a timely fashion, which matters because you want feedback when people’s memory of their experience is fresh!

Together we’ll make a plan for what to ask, who, and how often. We’ll get the right platform and systems in place to make collecting and analyzing feedback a smooth process that fits right into your workflow.
